My conventional training included graduating from The University of Cape Town as a medical doctor in 2006. During my governmental service years I completed a Diploma in Obstetrics as well as my Level 1 training in TRE (Trauma Releasing Exercises).
After completing my Community Service I sought a way to practise medicine that fed my desire to treat the cause of illness rather than just the symptoms and to find a medical frame that recognized the vast complexities of the human mind and body and allowed for integration of all these complexities into a holistic treatment plan.
In 2012 and 2013 I trained through the American Academy of Anti Aging Medicine and obtained my degree in Integrative and Functional Medicine as well as a Certificate in Bio Identical Hormone Therapy. During this time I also completed two courses via the University of Stellenbosch , an Introduction to Integrative Medicine as well as The Functional Approach to Integrative Medicine.
As with all healers, my path included “unconventional” training which resulted from my own journey trying to traverse the complexities of my own healing challenges within a mental, emotional, physical and spiritual framework. This “training” continues and I believe will carry me until my final days.
My practice focuses on finding the root cause for disease; disease prevention and bringing the body back to a place of balance and innate vitality. This is done with a deep emphasis on lifestyle and nutrition.
